If you experience the error message "Word is running into problems with the 'leapofficeword' add-in" while using LEAP with Word, please refer to the following steps to resolve the issue.

  1. Check to make sure your LEAP and Microsoft accounts have the same email address associated with them

    In order to use the LEAP for Word Add-in, you will need to log in to a Microsoft account that has the same assigned email address as your LEAP account. If you need to change your LEAP account's email address, please refer to the steps to edit your staff details in Application Settings - Staff Members.

  2. Reset the connection between LEAP and Word

    You may be able to resolve the error by resetting the connection between LEAP and Word. This involves configuring the Word Add-ins and Trust Center Settings. For more information, please refer to the article Resetting the Connection Between LEAP and Word.

  3. Antivirus/Firewall Settings

    Antivirus and firewall software often take a strict approach to protecting your computer, which may cause them to block harmless files based on their name, size, data, or actions. To prevent interference with the LEAP for Word Add-in, Add LEAP to your Antivirus Exceptions list.

  4. Automation Repair

    You can carry out an Automation Repair to resolve issues with the LEAP for Word Add-in. Please refer to the Automation Repair article for more information on this process.

  5. Check environmental factors

    Check environmental factors  such as device storage and uptime, as they may cause interference with the LEAP for Word Add-in. Additionally, please refer to the LEAP System Requirements to ensure that your computer meets the requirements to run LEAP, such as the correct version of Word.
