Update release date: 15 December 2025
We have made some important updates to matter tables and cards to improve the management of client information and to support exciting future enhancements and functionality within LEAP.
Card: AML & EPOA tabs updates
The previously combined AML Risk DD & EPOA tab found on card has now been divided into two distinct tabs, AML and Authorised Representatives.
Dividing these into two tabs allows us to improve usability with future updates ensuring they better support New Zealand practice. The planned future updates include:
AML
· Linking CDD information on cards to related matters
· Improvements to fields for Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) and Source of Funds/Source of Wealth
Authorised Representatives
· Introduction of separate tabs for Enduring Power of Attorney (EPOA) and Power of Attorney (POA)
· Updates to fields within both tabs to support more accurate recording of a client's appointed authorities
· Additional tabs for recording other authority types a client may hold or delegate to another person or entity
Card: New “Estate of” salutation for deceased cards
We have introduced a new “Estate of” salutation option on people cards to make a deceased person’s card clearly identifiable as the Estate name.
When this salutation is used, the full Estate Name will automatically populate in full legal description fields.
Matter: Compliance table updates
We have released version 1.1.0 of the Compliance table, improving how information is entered, displayed, and saved. This update addresses issues with entering and retaining data in earlier versions while preparing us for future enhancements that will allow the Compliance table and client cards to work together more effectively. Our objective for these future improvements is to reduce double entry, support the integration of third-party verification, and facilitate better storage of CDD documents.
Key improvements released in v1.1.0:
· Information for CDD date completed and client risk level pulls through automatically from the first client card that has these fields completed
· The Source of Funds status displays Not Required when that option is selected
· When creating a new matter, selecting Non-Captured Activity clears and disables all other fields.
· When updating existing matters, selecting Non-Captured Activity disables the other fields but does not remove previously entered information.
· Improvements to ensure smoother loading, more reliable saving, and clearer display of information and actions within the Compliance table
Matter: Conveyancing details & Settlement details tables
The Conveyancing details and Settlement details tables used in Conveyancing and Property matter types have been combined into a single streamlined table titled Conveyancing details.
The First Home Buyer Grant field has been removed from the Conveyancing details table as this grant is no longer available. Any data previously entered in this field will continue to appear in precedents or documents where it has already been used. It has been replaced with the Settlement date read-only field that was previously available in the Settlement details table.
All other fields remain unchanged but can now be found in the new consolidated Conveyancing details table. The Settlement details table is no longer available on new matters created.
Matter: Estate matter types
We have made a number of improvements to Estate matter types to ensure information is captured more accurately and to better reflect the needs of Estate administration or Estate planning.
These updates include:
· Creation of a Revoked Attorney card table:
· Addition of an Additional Details related table for both the Consultation Person and Information Person card tables to indicate the type of enduring power of attorney they are consulting or informing on:
· Updates to critical dates across Estate matters so they better reflect what is required for each matter type, including removal of CDD dates where CDD is not required.
· Updates to default tables to ensure they are more relevant to each specific matter type.
· Improved grouping of tables within the matter so similar information is kept together, such as Will information and EPOA information.
· Addition of the Deed Register table as a default table in relevant Estate matter types.
· Updates to the Estate details table, including:
· Estate name and Estate IRD number now included in this table:
Note: The old Estate name table has been removed and will not appear on any new Estate matters created.
For existing matter types, the old Estate name table will still show with existing data retained. This data will also show in the Estate details table. You can no longer access the old Estate name table. If you do, you will receive a legitimate error message because the data has been moved to the Estate details table:
As the data is now found in the Estate details table you may wish to remove the old Estate name table from your existing matters. To do this, right click and select “Remove”, then “Edit Table Types” and un-tick the Estate name table:
· Estate name field now uses the Deceased’s card with the new “Estate of” salutation by default or allows for this to be updated as needed using the new “Estate name, if different” field. There is a handy tooltip next to the Estate name field to remind users that the Estate name pulls from the Deceased’s card using the “Estate of” salutation:
· Addition of a separate Will details tab within the Estate details table:
· New “Executor title" fields:
· New “Estate name” field:
· Moved the spouse details section to the Deceased card’s Additional Details table:
Matter: New Alternative Dispute Resolution table
We have added a new Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) table to accurately record and track the use of ADR processes in relevant matters. It enables firms to clearly document whether ADR is being used, and the type of method selected:
For any matter types where it is required, it can be added using “Edit Table Types”. The table appears as a default option (on the left side of the “Edit Table Types” screen) for matter types where ADR is most relevant:
