A recent Adobe security update (version 26.001.21431) has introduced an issue affecting LEAP’s integration with PDFs. As a result, users may be unable to open or work with PDF documents directly within LEAP.
Our team has now developed a temporary fix, which has been tested and is available for affected users. Please note that you will need Administrator access to your PC to complete these steps:
Temporary Fix
- Save all work and close LEAP.
- Close all instances of Adobe Acrobat Reader or Acrobat Pro.
- Click here to download the fix file acrobat_fix.bat.
- This file has been provided by LEAP to safely resolve this issue caused by the recent Adobe update.
- Locate the downloaded file and double-click to run it.
If the issue persists, run a LEAP repair:
1. Close LEAP, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Adobe
2. Download LEAP Desktop
3. Open the downloaded file > Select Repair on the Installer
4. Reopen LEAP
5. Close LEAP again
6. Run the Temporary Fix
Workaround (if unable to apply fix)
If you are unable to apply the fix, you can continue working with documents by:
Right-clicking the document in LEAP
- Selecting “Export document”
- Opening the file from its saved location
Cause
This issue was caused by a change introduced in Adobe version 26.001.21431, impacting how LEAP interacts with PDF files.
We are continuing to work with Adobe on a permanent resolution and will provide further updates as they become available.
